Multi Agency Emergency Exercise at Briar Chemicals
On Thursday 6 June 2019 Briar Chemicals will be holding an emergency exercise at their site in Norwich.
The exercise will allow Briar staff to practice their on-site response to an incident together with the Emergency Services. These exercises are used to raise awareness and validate emergency plans. It will benefit not only Briar Chemicals’ staff, but also those taking part from the emergency services and other organisations.
The exercise will start at 1000 hrs, will last for approximately 90 minutes, and will be contained within the site boundary.
The general public will not be involved in the exercise although local residents may hear the site alarms and notice some extra activity in the area of the site as emergency vehicles go to and from the site.
Billy Ruston, Resilience Officer, Norfolk County Council, said: “The exercise at Briar is one of many emergency exercises and training sessions involving a multi-agency response organised throughout the county which demonstrate our commitment to working together to make Norfolk safer.
