Our Partners

The Civil Contingencies Act (CCA 2004) divides responding organisations into Categories and places a number of statutory duties on them:

Category 1 Responders are those organisations with a statutory duty to plan for emergencies.
Category 2 Responders are those organisations with a statutory duty to work with other responders and share information.

As well as category 1 and 2 responders, there are a number of non-categorised agencies that support us during planning, response and recovery. You can find a full list of our partners below.

What are their duties?

Risk assess
- Carry out risk assessments, and contribute to the development of a community risk register
Plan
- Plan individually, and together for these risks
Co-operate
- Co-operate and share information with appropriate organisations
Warn and inform
- Warn the public about Norfolk’s risks, and inform how to prepare for, respond to and recover from them
Business Continuity
- Ensure the organisation can deliver its critical services at all times through business continuity planning and management
Advise
- Local Authorities should advise and assist voluntary groups and the commercial sector about business continuity
