Children, and young people, can find it difficult to understand what an emergency situation is and what to do if they are faced with one.  There are some things you can do to help them understand:

  • Get them involved

Involve them in your planning at home

  • When to ask for help

Teach them how and when to call the Emergency Services and non-emergency numbers

  • Escape

Let them plan an escape route for home

  • Meeting place

If you’re visiting a crowded place, such as the zoo or theme park, agree a meeting place should you get separated

How would you prepare for a dinosaur invasion?
